The Challenge
PokerStars is an online poker cardroom owned by The Stars Group. Work on PokerStars Spin & Go tournaments commenced in 2013 with its launch in 2014.
PokerStars poker room leadership requested a number of prototypes and specifications for this new type of poker tournament.
It was critical that the prototypes will reflect the fine details of the UI changes during fast-paced game progression. The task required an in-depth knowledge of Texas Hold’em game rules as well as extensive experience designing for online poker. It was also essential for the task to have experience in prototyping, illustration, storyboarding and animation.
Our Solution
A set of the prototypes and specifications were delivered. They provided very detailed requirements and guidance to the graphic designers and developers.
Ongoing reviews of the game and the feedback were provided throughout the testing phase.

The Result
PokerStars was happy with the delivered document.
In 2014 PokerStars Spin & Go Tournaments were officially launched. The game features a new poker tournament format comprising a lottery based prize pool. The game instantly gained success and popularity among the players. In the first few years upon its launch, Spin & Go brought an additional 40% increase in PokerStars annual revenue. This format of the tournament is still one of the most popular online poker games known today.
